SPECIAL EVENTS FOR YOUR DIARY

We want to draw everyone's attention to some events which are in the early stages of planning,

Weekend 18/19 November. Obviously, this is the weekend following Remembrance Sunday as the country enters the final year of reflection upon the First World war. More details will follow, but you may wish to reserve the dates in your diary.

Saturday 18 November - during the day - the Rev'd David Wood will be returning to Preston to conduct an Old Testament-based Bible Study at Fulwood Methodist Church. The theme is still under discussion but it may be connected with.....

Sunday 19 November - afternoon. A visit is being planned to The Bridgewater Hall Manchester to hear a performance of Karl Jenkins' oratorio 'The Armed Man', conducted by the composer himself. At present we have 20 tickets on reserve and these will need to be paid for (by the Church) in early September. This notice is intended to give Fulwood people the first call on the tickets. Hopefully, more will be needed and obtainable - and after the end of August we will open the invitation to other churches, the theatre visit group and friends. to reserve a place, please telephone Ken Wales (863791) to leave a message or send an email to kenwales9421@gmail.com

The cost has yet to be worked out and will depend upon numbers (will we require a coach etc?) We will calculate the cost based upon the Church policy for theatre trips - but assistance will be available to help anyone who wants to go. The seats we are obtaining are medium-priced and have a group discount.
