On the weekend of 23rd - 25th November, 24 young people and 10 leaders from the circuit attended the 3Generate weekend at Pontins, Southport. 10 of those young people were from Fulwood, aged between 8-17 years.

This year’s theme was ‘Courageous’. Our young people took part in various workshops throughout, these included late night storytelling, Solutions Not Sides, which looked at the Israeli Palestinian conflict, others looked at knife crime and looked at Methodism and how it all began. Please feel free to ask the youngsters what they did. Other highlights included Emily going on stage with the band ‘Urban Praise Project’ and ‘flossing’! We also had the chance to meet up with Jane and Nicky Gleeson who were helping with the event.

At the end of the weekend I asked the youngsters to write down their favourite things or memories of the weekend and this is what they said – eating, silent disco, Urban Praise Project band, story time with Bob, Darren’s dance moves, especially the ‘flossing’, the music and warm rooms!

One person who has taken the theme to heart is Verity, who had decided to go for one of the roles of Methodist Conference Rep, in which she was successful in getting the role. This means she will speak on behalf of children and young people as they report to the annual conference, particularly about 3Generate. Well done Verity.

There was so much going on during the weekend, so please feel free to come and ask us about it!
